The original parish church was built in 1755/56. Due to its run-down state, it was demolished in 1887, and the construction of a new church began in 1893. It was finished in the autumn of the following year, but in 1901 it was once again torn down for its weathered condition. Immediately after the demolition, the building of the new, present-day church began, finished and consecrated in 1904.

The most western monastery of the Eastern Orthodox Church, which also houses the church of St. Jovan Preteča, is in Gomirje, 5 kilometres from Vrbovsko. The monastery was founded in 1600 and the church construction began in 1719.

This 17th century church is a single nave building with a trilateral end, a domed vaulting over the aisle and a lateral  church tower which probably originally served as a defensive facility.

This church is one of the oldest in Gorski Kotar. According to the parish priest, the present church was built somewhere around 1573. It is a building of late-Gothic style, set at a higher ground in the centre of the town.

The single-floored castle of square foundation is situated on the cliffs above the river Kupa. It is built on a very attractive location with a magnificent view of the Kupa valley, a small village Riblje  and neighboring Slovenia.
